Palmerston North is experiencing one of those windy summers we get from time to time, and this Sunday offered a blustery westerly to challenge our skills. 6 of us ventured out for our weekly sanity ride and decided to tack our way to Foxton via various back roads. An eclectic collection of machines representing 70’s, 80’s, and more modern bikes from Japan, Italy and Germany took part. We headed out of town on KB Road going through Hoihere Road to Bainesse. Then down Himatangi Block Road to the Foxton-Shannon road with our destination being Millside café next to the Foxton De Molen Windmill. A short ride but very relaxing just cruising along. Good coffee and food was enjoyed at the Millside and we chatted about bikes and other things for the best part of an hour. Great to spend Sunday morning catching up with your mates. When it was time to go we headed back across the Foxton-Shannon road to Shannon and then home to Palmerston North. Sir Al
